‘Praveshanotsavam is the grand reception' accorded to children entering Class I on school reopening day which is June 1st conducted by the Department of Education of Kerala Government. By notification from the State Govt all schools are required to welcome the tiny tots with joy and fan fare. I happened to be at my hometown Panayal and witnessed the festive mood with which children were welcomed to school on their first day. Emotions of the first standard students went beserk.
